I don't think I have much to add to what people have already said about this knife, but anyway, this is what I think of it.

Pros:

It has a nice high flat grind that cuts quite well. It is also quite easy to open and close: not quite as easy as an axis locked folder, but close. By holding down the compression lock, it is easy to flick the knife open and closed, gently, in the same way one might do by holding back an axis lock.

I am not sure about the way it feels in the hand. I'm not used to the steep thumb ramp that's on this knife. While it didn't present any problem during the little use I put the knife through, it did feel a bit strange. I'd probably get used to it with time. I did like the large handle size, though. I am tired of midgy little handles that I can't even fit all my fingers on.

Cons:

The knife rides too high in the pocket. There is a good inch exposed, which, admittedly, makes drawing the knife easy, but seems unnecessary. Other knives I have leave much less knife exposed, and are still easy enough to draw. I guess the clip already makes it pretty obvious that one is carrying a knife, but I still don't like the large exposed area.

Also, the thumb ramp is very steep, as previously mentioned, and quite agressive, so much so that my hand got quite scratched up if I attempted to use the pocket the knife was in for anything else. (When reaching into my pocket, my hand got scratched on the way in, and on the way out.)

Overall, with a few tweaks to the design, I might consider this knife as a possible EDC.

I like the handle too, others have complained about the blade/handle ratio, but I don't see that number as being meaningful. As a suggestion, it would be worthwhile to link to the main passaround thread in the individual reviews to keep the discussion connected. STR does really nice looking clip and mods in general, he would readily mod the above as described.

Price-wise the Military seems like a better deal, although the lock is different and not everyone needs or wants a 4in blade. How well does the compression lock rates in terms of ease of cleaning, rinsing, and water retention? Is it about the same as that of the liner-lock on the Military?

I find the only time when the thumb ramp has any use is when performing pushcuts away from the body.

I have not noticed any problems with cleaning either lock. The main difference most people comment on (aside from security issues) is that the liner lock is easier to manipulate, which could be just a case of experience.
