I just got home and found the package on my chair. Here are my first impressions:

1. I don't like the tip down carry. Maybe I'm just so used to tip up carry with my 806D2.

2. VERY SHARP!!! I don't know if its been sharpened by anyone before, but when I got it, it was razor sharp!

3. Opens fairly smoothly, but not as smooth as my 806D2.

4. It must have one serious ball bearing in it, because it is hard to open.

5. It locks up nice and tight, but its a bit difficult to disengage the lock. Maybe that is a good thing...

Well, I'll carry this along with me and see what I think! Thanks!

I just noticed that the blade appears to hit the inside of the liner/handle when closed. A minor detail, but it may cause wear. There appears to be virtually no blade wobble when the screw is properly tightened.

However, I just found out that this knife is under $40 on 1sks!

This knife is certainly a bargain at that price!

I noticed on mine that when I loosen the pivot too much the blade rubs the liner. Maybe that is the cause on that passaround?

Has anyone tried to loctite that screw? I have been carrying mine regularly and the screws are as tight as the day I bought it. I wonder if I just got lucky or if you guys didn't?

About sharpening, has anyone sharpened it? If so how difficult was it for them to get a good edge on it? How long does it seem to hold it?

I have sharpened mine once. It was pretty easy on the sharpmaker, of course it wasn't very dull when I sharpened it.

Well, in my case, I tried experimenting with the screw to see how it effected the opening. It only made the blade wobble, so I tightened it down. Maybe it should get some loctite on it...

Update:

It is very sharp, but its not that sharp...I was cutting open a bag and it caught...:(

I guess that is the downfall of 440 steels.

BTW, I don't even remember who is coordinating this passaround. I need to know where I'm sending this knife when I'm done. Thanks!

Isn't the passaround sheet with it? :(

Ah, I found it! I thought it was packing material and I overlooked it!

Don't pack the knife with white paper as packaging and include important papers!

Sorry I had to improvise, the box it was sent to me in got damaged so I switched it out at the post office and needed extra packing material.
