Yup!!
I was on a mission at the Big Gun & Knife Show Saturday and passed up a full curving 1943 model khukuri that was just pretty dayum-ed nice!!
I hope one of the other guys here got it instead of someone who didn't know what it was.
I didn't see the scabbard and the karda and chakma nor the helmet that the guy threw in with the knife,so I don't know if they were included with it. The guy ws asking a good price at $150.00 I thought. The knife was in very nice shape and had been well cared for. It was of the panna buta style as welland youcould see where the full tang seperated into the 2 tips that the steel buttcap was mounted too.
There was no "India" mark on this one!!
I finally got to handle one though and now I am more convinced than ever to get one made!!
The blade at the bolster was a little over 3/8" and had a welded bolster from steel mounted on and formed into the blade.
It may have even been one piece as I didn't look That closely.
The blade had a very distinct distal taper and was about 1/4" at the tip.
It looked like many of the ones that John has posted here from that era with the wider blades style of the time.
Haveing had the experience of handleing one with a few practice swings has made me start thinking twice about te dui chiarra style blade and more about the systernhi(sp?) style blade that John mentioned.
Dayum, I liked that knife!!
One of those times when money had to go for something else and when I figured another wayto work it out and went back to get it...It was Gone!!
That means I wasn't supposed to have it.
I am gonna have to find some more time in between everything else and get that prtotype done!!

The hardy adventurer just drank from a stream he thought was pure glacier fed water not knowing that upstream was being used by a herd of yaks as a giant bidet.
I said he was hardy, not smart.
