I was very sad to read of the passing of Dr David Darom. I doubt there is a person here who is not familiar with his incredible work in bringing the art of the custom knife to the world in general. His books were truly inspiring for so many reasons. He will be truly missed.

My deepest condolences to his family and friends. May his memory be a blessing to them.

Thank you for this Steven. He single-handedly elevated our world ten notches higher.

I figured he was not healthy, as he was vibrant when he was.
I will miss him. His legacy, mostly in the forms of MANY books, lives on eternally.

this news is more devastating than I thought it would be. David was a mentor, and he changed my life.

Posted below on my Instagram after reading this. It reached thousands. Lots of tributes being posted.

"It is with great sadness to have to tell of the passing of this LEGEND in our world.

Dr. David Darom lived in Israel, and contributed through editing, photography, and by photo book creation to admire the finest handmade knives on the planet.

I was one of MANY outside photographers who worked and *learned* through him. I distinctly recall one visual cue he guided me on, which occurs in my current work.

My condolences to his family and to all of us who have been inspired through his greatness."

Sorry to hear of his passing. One always hopes to obtain more from the greats of a craft but have to say I thoroughly enjoy the dozen books of his I can view at anytime.
Coop -- the baton is being passed to you as I am sure you would capture a wide audience for books that you might produce.
