Thought you guys would like to know that Mike Hoag of Ozark Cutlery passed away on 8/11/09 from complications of heart failure. Mike was a knife collector and a dealer and sold me many of the early knives I have in my collection particularly Pass Pro prototypes from Buck. He will be missed. My prayers go out to his family. Mike's eBay handle was/is "endevergsp".

Hi Richard,

Thank you for posting this information. I have been one of Mike's and his family's customers for many years. Like Richard I have some very nice additions in my collection thanks to Mike and his family.

My condolences go out to the Hoag family.

I spoke to Christa Hoag, Mike's daughter, this past week and she appears to be doing well. Mike was an honorable man, who I always implicitly trusted in doing business; he will be missed. He loved Buck knives as much as we do. Christa said that he had made his peace and was ready. It is my understanding that Christa intends to continue the business.

I'm sorry to hear that. I didn't know who he was until today but I've bought a lot of knives from his ebay listings.

Our thoughts and prayers with the Hoag family. I wish I had had a chance to know him.

I met him at the 20th reunion as well and bought a knife from him.He will be missed.
A gentleman. Our prayers are extended to the family.DM

I didn't recognize his name. Then I read his e-bay name and it clicked...

Can't really say I knew him, but was fortunate enough to deal with him a few times.

I am really sorry to hear about Mike. Until now I didn't know his name but I recognized his Ebay name. I bought a number of knives from him on Ebay. My condolences to the family.

I have one of the smooth, green bone 110's in the hardshell jewelry box case that were made exclusively for him. A beautiful knife that will now be special to me.
