Passport Application Question

I'm going to apply for a US Tourist Passport this week- not that I have any pending or imminent travel plans- but with the new restrictions, I would like to have on in case I decided that a road trip up to Quebec or something would be a nice diversion some weekend.

I have a couple questions- In the home phone number blank, can I list my cell number instead? That would be a lot better way to contact me, if they needed to, and that is the phone number I use with other .gov agencies (ie BATFE). Do they frequently try to contact applicants by phone?

The emergancy contact blank on the DS11- is DOS generally good about protecting that information? Have they been known to abuse it in the past or use it for other than emergancy notification use?

Also, since I don't have any pending or imminent travel plans, I can leave the travel plans section blank, right?

Also, I have 2 jobs, with 2 different employers and two different occupations. Right now I filled the occupation blank in with both (ie. Occupation 1 & Occupation 2). Is that acceptable? Should I just list the occupation that I devote more time to? I recall there only being 1 employer info space, so that is how I filled that blank in.

Thanks guys!

I would suggest that you go to your local post office and talk to the person who handles the applications. They are usually pretty knowledgeable as to what is required.

By the way, you need your original birth certificate as filed with your county recorder. That cute one with your foot prints may not be any good.
