Hey All,

I have seen a past forum knife in a video and one in a picture here. I was wondering as I am fairly new to the forums, what are the past blades? And does anyone use them. I ordered one for this year and am almost regretting ordering only one. I have a fear of using the only one I have. I also have the same fear when it comes to older (2007 and 2009) production blades from GEC.

The first was a ring opener penknife, I believe by Canal Street. I missed that one, but the rest I got in on. Canal Street Canittler in D2 with mammoth ivory covers and scrolled bolsters, Small stockman by Northwoods in 1095 and stag, Barlow by Queen in D2 with stag covers and two main blades - clip and wharncliffe, Moose by Queen in 1095 and ebony, and the Easy Opener from GEC in 1095 and jigged bone.

They are posted in this thread by one of the few members who have all of them. There is also a link in it to an older thread with more pics.

A lot of people here use them. It's ultimately up to you whether or not to buy a second as a backup. My first forum knife, the 2010 "Moose" was the only one I've ever had that took me a while to decide to carry. What it came down to was the fact that I enjoy my knives the most through use. Since I started using it, I haven't had that problem with any other knife including a couple customs that cost more. I didn't even think about it when my 2011 knife came. In fact, the first thought that came to mind was 'I can't wait to use this thing!'.

I have the 10 Moose and the 11 EZ-Opener, the latter sees a lot of use.

I HAD an 08 Small Stockman in Stag but that got lost along with a couple of other knives in a domestic flood in May. Much missed.

Here are the last 4, 2008-2011:

Missing are the 2007 Canittler and the 2006 Twist Ring Pen.

Here's another pic with the two missin' forum knives.

OK, here's the whole gang together taken a few minutes ago.

(Thought the above was worth bringing here; I love these pictures from Ted.)

Another thing that I'm not sure was mentioned in the other threads is the tang stamp. It was first used in 2010 and had 10 dots. The idea was to use it similar to the way Case does theirs. One dot is removed each year so the stamp is good for a decade. This year's should be an 8 dot. The '09 knife had stamped bolsters and the ones before that were marked with a blade etch.
