Yesterday I ordered a couple of pat crawfords devil dart sleeve knives. His web site says these were designed and refined after seeing the oss sleeve dagger used during world war 2. They are 7 inches overall with a 3 1/2 inch triangle shaped blade and a knurled handle and then bead blasted all over. They are 5/16 inch thick. You can get either a nylon sheath to wrap around your leg or your arm, but I got mine with kydex sheaths to wear as neck knives.I know this is not a very tasteful question but I was wandering that if you had to use one for defense, what would your target area be? I was wandering what area you would go for to do the most damage with a 3 1/2 inch triangle shaped dagger. Any of you older forumites know anything about them being used in any of our previous wars? Thanks for the information. Roger

Dear Woger,
I don't find the qquestion tasteless at all!

Stab the bad guy in the foot, thereby nailing him to the ground.
He'll look so silly as he tries to get free, crying his sissy la-la eyes out, calling for mommy etc., then falling over, causing him to shriek madly, and look even sillier!

Then when the cops get there, you can stick around (Oh, please pardon the funpun) so everyone can have a huge guffaw when they pull the thing out of his foot!

Wondering how you managed to get the complicated (not to mention, almost impossible to spell) handle,
I remain,
VG

Ok Vampire Gerbil, Give me a break, so my spelling leaves much to be desired. Thats why the handle, I can remember how to spell it. And thanks for the good point on how to use the dagger. Never thought of that. Just hope the pavement is not to hard under his foot so`s I can nail him good. Roger

I would go right through the old ear canal myself. Possibly a good up the nostril shot might do.

Go for the eyes, Boo! Seriously, the face is always an excellent target, but I think the original design is based on "ice-pick", mafia-style tactics. i.e., stick-and-stir at the nape of the neck, or in the ear.

The ear is a poor target - much harder to penetrate then might first look.

The eye is obviously a better target.

There are many other good targets- But I don't think this is the right place to discuss them

I think VG will be more then happy to demonstrate some of them to you....
