A guy locally to me offered this in trade which has me a bit baffled for one there aren’t many knife guys in my parts let alone someone with a Crawford.

I have seen other Crawford toplocks along the way but most being of slender design. I haven’t seen this one before and am wondering if it is legit. Possibly an earlier design? Ball park figure on something like this so I don’t get soaked on the deal should I choose to take it?

Obviously I can't say for sure but it looks very Crawford-ish to me. Like a cross between a Leopard and an Assassin. Pat isn't making knives any more but you can get in contact with his son Wes via the email on the Crawford website if you're really concerned.

Looks like one to me. I am no expert, but I've seen a few. His signature mark is signature :) The Crawfords would be happy to help; I contacted them with a question about a similar purchase of a used knife and talked to his wife.

looks real to me, ive collected many crawfords over the years,i know they were big on that lock at one time. signature and beadblasting looks good too. Their value is in the 300 range, its hard to get big money for older beadblast crawfords like that.

I have several Crawford knives, and it looks real to me. The Assassin top lock model is no longer made, and Pat made them in various thickness of handles and blades.

Thanks guys! Only was wondering because I couldn’t find a exact picture of one. I do agree it looks like an assassin - leopard mix. I saw a couple leopards with similar drilling in the scales but not in this shape or exact pattern of holes. Thought it was a bit older with the machining marks still in the holes and the bead blasting.

I appreciate the help.
