I just placed an order with Larry B. for a folder made my this maker. Called the JPCF, it has a 3.75" blade with titanium frame and ti overlays that are anodized blue. This knife looks like a great user and looks to be comfortable in the hand, and at 5.4 ounces it is not a lightweight I had read somewhere that his attention to detail is a major priority. I also think he was awarded "Best New Maker" at the 2000 or 2001 BLADE Show! That in itself should be enough. My question is why have we not heard much about this maker? Again, from the looks of the knives he has I would think his name would be a bit more prominent.

I heard that he got divorced and that his knifemakeing has been slowed due to this. He does have excellent fit and finish, I met him at the 2001 blade show where he was awarded best new maker.
 
Patrick was at the Greater Ohio Valley Knife Show (Koval produced show). While he didn't have a table,he was there. We only got to talk for a very few minutes. He said his knifemaking over the past year had slowed for the time. I didn't ask Patrick re the marriage concerns as Striper 28 mentions, and as did someone at the show mention.

I hope that the "one big step back" Patrick has had to take is indeed followed by "two giant steps forward" and that he will be back at it with that massive enthusiasm he exhibited in 2000 and 2001.

If I hear more, I'll post it.

Those "Bimbos" (ex wives) can do it to you. I have two. Will not go within 10 miles of either one.
Talked with him on the phone for an hour or so about a year ago.Great guy and knifemaker.Hard for me to give advice on marriage,given my track record. His wife at the time was screwing him around big time. Too bad. Hope he puts it behind him.
 
I am a personal friend of Patrick Nihisers (for 30 years) and am helping him get his shop moved into a nicer/larger location at this time. He is going through an ugly divorce but the worst is behind him.
Expect some exciting new stuff from him real soon!

Yes, I'm excited to be able to help him out.

His new shop is coming together fast and should be back to 100% in a week or so.
