Patch a gap in leather

I have a gap in between the welt and the body of the sheath. Is there a way to patch this gap? I'm thinking maybe some leather dust and some type of adhesive (epoxy,super glue, Jb weld).

I've used CA glue and clamp it, fills in well. then sand as normal.

Thanks Dave,
I went out and bought the gel formula. I'm using it as more of a filler. It worked well on application (didn't get any run off). I'll post back when its complete.
