Welcome to BFC, BeardedAxe! Your knife is a Finnish puukko.

It’s hard to make out what’s written on the blade, but it could say “Iisakki Järvenpää Kauhava”. Kauhava is a traditional knife-making town in Finland. Iisakki Järvenpää is an old company in Kauhava that’s still around and makes a lot of knives. I’m not an expert though and it’s difficult to read the writing, so it could be another maker.

Thank you for the warm welcome!

After looking at the inscription with a loop, I believe you are right. Now that I have the maker, thanks to your help, I'm going to try to track down the yr it was made. This was given to me by my uncle who bought it at a yard sale many yrs ago. Thanks for your help and I will keep you posted on my findings.
