I couldn't find anything on the website about this knife. Can someone explain what use it was designed for and what other model it's closest to? Thanks

See the comprehensive review Phil (comprehensivist) did that Josh has linked for you.

Also, here is the description from when it debuted:

We are proud to introduce our newest knife, the Patch Knife. It is an historical design originally used to cut patches for black powder shooting. But of course this handy little knife was used for everything. It is a scaled down version of the Recluse, similarly sized as the Hiking Buddy, shown here with the Bubinga Recluse (#9 this week) for size comparison sake.

See this Fiddleback Friday thread for the quote and some comparison pictures: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1199443-Fiddleback-Friday-07-11-14?highlight=patch

Sizewise it's the same as a Hiking Buddy. Blade profile is different as well as the handle pommel. Patch is on top.

I love mine as an EDC blade.
