Patia?

Yesterday, i bought a new Browning Crowell/Barker Competition Knife from my local outdoor supply store. I purchased the last one they had and he had to take it the one from the display case and find the box and i purchased it and went home. When i got home and took it out i noticed that there is slight patina on the spine of the blade and right on the blade its self. I wasn't to taken back from it because it was intended to be a user and because he gave me $80 off of the asking price(i know the guy who owns the store really well). So even though i'm to worried about it i would still like to be able to take it off. Any suggestions as to how to do that?

Should be able to take it off with a protectant polish like Flitz. Or you could just patina the entire blade with a homebrew solution, if you go that way to a search around for it.

Yep, patina wears off really easily with polish. Or even with use if it's on a surface that gets a lot of contact.

You want it to be on the blade or not? If it's user, then it will be there. In my books, patina looks really good and gives the knife character. I never really oil my blades with ultra-tactical oil (tm), just clean them and they give good looking patina to it.
