Hi all

I decided to go for the BAS as my first khuk as I couldnt wait much longer and there were no 18inch AK in horn handle by Sher.

Its gonna take 2 weeks to get here as the postal system here is out the ark so my cheque will take a week to get to the US and then the wait for my BAS to arrive. Patience is a virtue !!!

Brendan,

I feel for you. I have the same problem living in rural Australia. In the last couple of weeks I have ordered three HI khukuris. They are all somewhere in that great "land of the Postman" between Bill's place and mine. The wait is a killer isn't it. Some time back, I even asked fellow Cantina members to stop writing reviews of their khukuris until one of mine arrived. It didn't work. I just bite my upper lip and grin and bear it. I reckon Uncle Bill should make all those damned Yanks wait at least three weeks before he even posts their khukuris. What do you think?

Hi

I agree, us antipodians deffenetly have a knack of bumping into each other. Im originally from SA. What did you order ?

Regards,
Brendan

We definitely do have these things in common, my great grandparents were from Ireland. I have a 15 inch Chiruwa AK and two baby GRS's on their way. One of the GRS's is for a son.:D I thought the green smiling face was appropriate in the circumstances.

Patience is a virtue, in all things except waiting for your Khuks to arrive. Even here in the States, the two to four days will see HIKV patients leaning on their mailboxes by the roadside, in the rain and snow, drooling in anticipation. As I've said before, our mailman no longer delivers - he just speeds up, and throws the mail toward the driveway. Have fun:D

You can do things to pass the time like I did. I made a cardboard khukuri at work. It didn' t go over extremely well when I ran around and tried to decapitate people with it. :)

Im busrting my guts laughing at the mental picture !!

Cheers for the moral support

Just tell em it could be worse--you could use a real one. Er, on second thought, save that remark for when the threaten to fire you;)

Bite your tongue!!  Don't even suggest such a thing!

Like Wal said, 4 days is bad enough;):p :D At least you don't have to drink WARM beer while you wait, oh, sorry I guess you do---just teazin:p :D

Uncle Bill

You just made me a very happy man !!!! I really appreciate it, thank you.

God Bless
Brendan !:) :D

It will be worth the wait. You'll see, then you will be getting more and the waiting will be even harder.

Thanks again Uncle, my girlfriend is getting so irritated with me as I am like a kid on Christmas eve !!!!

I will post a full review of my BAS after Ive got it.

Regards,
Brendan

I'm betting the gods $135 that you are an honest man, Bren, and I'm 99.99 percent sure it's a bet I'm going to win.

It's worth the minimal risk to make a fellow happy.

I call by noon and Uncle drops it in the afternoon mail and the Post Office almost always has it up by 8:30 AM the next morning. Sometimes they just keep it waiting up front at the counter - they recognise the label and know I'm getting a new khuk. Once I even picked one up at 7:55 - 5 minutes before they officially opened at 8AM.

I can wait what? 20 hours? Or find an excuse to drive the 132 miles to Reno in 2 hours 15 minutes ( +/- 15 minutes ).

Ain't no problem holding out while it gets to me down here. Whassa matta you all???
