...yet unfortunately, I seem to be lacking at the moment. I just recently purchased my first HI khuk(Chiruwa Ang Khola, request made by Sher) and I feel oh so very anxious to have it.

A few years ago, I became attracted to the beautiful shape of this type of blade, and at the time I was a very, very poor person. I couldn't afford to buy a cheap pocket knife, let alone a decent blade. So the very idea of owning a khukuri was well beyond me. A couple years later a good friend and I started getting really into tactical gear, survival equipment, and the likes. This new hobby sprang from a guy named Sean Kennedy, from RantMedia, if you've ever heard of him. We started regularing the local Army surplus stores, and I happened to stumble upon my first KLO. It was a cheapy curved machete, cost me all of ten bucks. I bought it, and it just warmed my longing for a true Khuk all over again.

This was only a year ago. And now I'm here, and HI has finally been able to give me that dear object of my desires. I'm proud to say I have started my lovely collection of Khukuris, and even prouder to say it's a HI khuk.

Anyways, back to the whole point of this post. I'm brand spanking new here, and I was feeling oh so anxious about waiting for my khukuri. It's been 'pending review' for two weeks, and I'm practically dreaming about it until it comes. But mostly I just wanted to introduce myself, and say how I came to the HI community. Thanks for listening to me, and it's great to be part of the family!

Welcome to the H.I forums, Mike!

All of us here have had the same feeling as you at one time or another, fortunately with the speed of shipping we enjoy around here when buying from the DOTD, the wait isnt too long. One of the best parts of buying these blades is the anticipation of it's arrival, i still get anxious every time i buy one. Unfortunately for you though , you must've picked the one Yangdu didnt have in stock at the moment. Be Patient, the wait will be worth it, i am absolutely sure. Be aware though that the feelings you have expressed here are a sure sign you've become infected with HIKV.

Welcome:)

That thrill and anticipation never subsides no matter how many khuks you rack up. You'll still pace the floor until each new member of the family arrives via USPS.

The nice thing about California...it's not far from Reno;) Yangdu gets her khuks out lightspeed. I live in Indiana and it's usually 3 days tops between posting "I'll take it!" and it reaching my office door. Still feels like an eternity :D

Once again, WELCOME:D:thumbup:

Indeed. My blade is being created as I type... I find it crazy to think that a highly skilled Kami is crafting it just for me half a world away... and the anticipation is going to make the moment it arrives grand. Welcome, BTW.

As said above- the exquisite torture of anticipation never abates. I personally am trying to build my endurance by subjecting myself to the wait as frequently as possible. :D

-And welcome to the Cantina! :)

Update: I was just informed the Kami's working on my blade are Sher and Vim. I have never owned a knife to which I have such a personal connection. I am sure that it will be a signed work of art.

I know where you're coming from.
My first was a special order (by Bura no less). In the time it took to get here, I had already ordered two more!

Welcome aboard.

How how much virtue is too much?

Welcome aboard and your wait will be worthwhile

Ok DW205 ...spill it all: what are they working upon? :D

Having blades my both these Kami's, they would be my dream-team to create a custom blade!

Hey all. My name is Justin, and I'm happy to say I passed the infection to Sioraiocht haha.

A couple years ago I found RantMedia and Patrolling, and in an episode of Patrolling Sean K. has a HI 15" AK. So I checked out the HI website and that's all it took for me for me to get the virus.

Then awhile back, my good friend Mike is saying he wanted a sword. So he's looking at the Cold Steel website, and I tell him the only sword I'd buy is one from Himalayan Imports. I showed him the site and how the Kami's make the blades, and it's been great since then.

What's next dude? Tibetan Long Sword? :D

My blade arrived today here in Sweden the service is top notch. It took less than two weeks. Hat of for you all at H.I

It's #12 from Ferguson's Help Dr. Sunar sale.

To me, it's extra special because the sale is helping him get home to his family and start his new career.

Welcome Aboard!

I remember the wait for my first Khuk and sadly it feels like an eternity. :(

I like choice but I can't identify it for you.

To start your Khuk collection (is there such a thing a owning only 1 Khuk? :p ) while supporting a great cause is commendable.

Here you will find there are many similarly minded folk bound by their admiration of HI and its products.
