After a long wait, I finally found a Mean Street on Ebay. I was the only bidder surprisingly and anxiously waited for the auction to end. It was very pleasing to hear I won the auction and now I can't wait to get it in the mail. This knife will round off my Busse Collection of a SHBM in satin finish with green micarta purchased off Marc Fratello back in 2003 and a Satin Jack Combat Grade with Black crinkle coat and green micarta bought last year and beat to hell ever since. This Mean Street reminds me very much of woodlore style knives and will be a welcomed addition to my collection.

Here is a link to the end of auction page. Can anyone give me some background information on this knife (i.e. date of production, etc?)

Thanks guys for all your help in advance and thanks Busse Combat for such a great little knife.

Kevin, nice snag.

With the tubes, it indicates that the steel is definitely INFI. Mic it, as some of them may run over or under 0.250. Some people prefer the variations in thickness.

Also, newer (well, later production) blades will be crinkle coated, whileearlier models will have the smooth coat. Really can't tell from the pic.

That really was a good price for an INFI version, esp if in the mint condition it appears to be.

Be sure to post pics when you get it.

Again, nice snag bro.

looks like a crinkle coat. ( dont worry mike, my eyes are younger than yours :D ). nice score

Nice grab Kevin!

Hammy pretty much summed it up, it's Infi but the from the pic it's difficult to tell what finish it has.

Congrats!

I actually wrote the seller to mention that that wasn't a Fusion handle, but I guess he didn't care. I think this was the same guy who was selling a Battle Rat as being made of INFI and being in "new" condition until someone dropped him an email.

Kevin,

You got a great buy on a Mean Street! I would also be interested in the history of the MS. I did a search of the BF Busse forum, and the earliest message I found was from 5/01, which mentioned the MS having been discontinued. The MS had been in the Busse lineup for awhile, with the earliest ones being made from A2 steel and having smooth micarta and un-slotted bolts on the handle. The MS is a nice size for convenient carry, yet strong too.
