This is very nice..what pattern you use..there ar some nice colors on the blade!!
I only use mustard ketchup and mayonese but there are no colours on the blade..tell me your secret!!

Nice patina - at least for the beginning ;)

Use it on a ton of those healthy fruits, your blade will be almost black and you will be propably the healthiest person on earth

Here´s a pic of my most used GEC (#66 Serpentine Jack) of more than one year ago.

I have never seen those colors in a patina! I might have to go try that now for a different look on some of my knives.

Very nice! What's your method? Use over time, or forced?

Thanks Chris! I tried forcing a patina on the 15 but didn't wait long enough, that's why there's a Hamon type affect, otherwise it's all natural. An apple a day to keep the doctor away. :D

Lovely patina.

Try Shallots, or anything from the Onion family. Blue, purple, orange and then dark!

I have no idea why the color so colorful, it might be because of:
1. It comes out from the tube in mirror finish but i rubbed it with metal glo
2. I washed it with diswashing liquid
3. Dried it with tissue
4. Implemented it with mango which might be the acid different with any other fruits.
5. First use, we will see after i use it for daily basis.

I LOVE that picture.

Center of the blade, down by the edge: Looks like fire - reminds me of the flames you used to see painted on a '32 Ford hot rod. :D

Seriously unique patina, though. It'll be interesting to see how it ages or changes with further use.

I find peppers (especially red and yellow) put a nice color on carbon. Also banana peels add a very dark streak.

I've just used this knife on everything. Peppers, chicken salad sandwiches, fish bait, cheese, sausage, whatever. No babying at all.

Carl.

That Mango patina is stunning. I personally use the lackluster white Vinegar to get a patina started on my knives. It works, but sometimes too well. Here's a hard patina I put on my #56 some time ago, I don't leave them in as long anymore, just enough to get it started.

Nice patina there whetrock and it's also good to see a GEC dogleg again, it's a fine pattern in my view. I have the Tidioute Barehead Spear.

Thank you, Will
