New carbon mora. I used yellow mustard I made 5 diagonal stripes on each side of the blade it sat for 2 hours I washed it off cleaned with alcohol. Then I took frog lube wiped it down the rag had medium rust color on it. It sat overnight and I again wiped it more rust color did I do anything wrong? Will dipping in vinegar help?

I have noticed that hot water helps a forced patina "take" to the blade. Also, the longer you let it sit before use, the better the patina will remain. I've done some carbon Moras in the past and didn't like the way they turned out, so I rinsed them off immediately with cold water and a Scotch-Brite pad and the patina came right off. On another Mora, I waited a few weeks, and the patina was very difficult to remove - check it out (this one was done with horseradish):
