A month or so ago I read a thread about forcing a patina on the cpm4

steel on the GB. I used apple cider vinager for 1 1/2 hrs. on mine. I like it much Better

than the natural look of cpm4.

Does anyone else have a patina on their GB and like it better than the steel

the way it came from Spyderco? Post pics if you have them.

I'm even thinking of forcing a patina on my cpm4 Millie I like it so Much

better. :D

I like a patina. Mine has naturally developed a light patina. The steel does not darken readily like a simple carbon steel.

There is a pic on the thread on this forum Gayle Bradley Availibity ?

post # 11. The patina on this knife is blotchy compared to mine.

I started the same thread on the Spyderco.com Forum...Gen. Disc....

there is 1 pic there also ...... darker than mine.

As I said I like the look of the patina better than regular cpm4 steel. To

each his own I guess.

Aw, c'mon, you're going to diss the other guys' knives and not post pics of yours? Pics or it didn't happen, man! ;)

The patina on the knife from photobucket is cool. I like it a little better than the factory.. A little

Anyone go nuts with mayonaise, mustard, and ketchup ?

I've seen some nice patinas on Bark River A2 steel.

I prefer the patina because the factory finish tends to spot.

I also like the way it contrasts with the edge. The good thing is that as it gets worn off you can reapply vinegar or something to put it back on. You can see how my patina gets worn near the edge from cutting-I recently resoaked it and it's now black as a DLC (almost)
