Patina pleasure

Hundred plus year-old malleable iron, possibly Lancashire iron.

Nice old Klein 1550 folder. They still make 'em.

Yes, Utica Cutlery still produces these electricians knives for Klein.

This one I picked up a few months back at the flea market for $5, I have no clue what happened to it but there's a distinct ridge going along the driver blade where the corrosion happened.
My assumprass is that it had been left with something real corrosive on it such as battery acid , but I guess I'll never know.

I have one that I found in the rafters (steel trusses) of the Boeing Everett Plant, 100' above the factory floor. If you ever get a chance to tour the Everett Plant take it! It's the largest production facility in the world covering 98 acres.

But back on topic, patina. Here's one I did for a friend a few years back. It was his grandfather's axe. Only says 'MADE IN SWEDEN'. The font matches some old GB's I've owned. I suspect it was imported and sold with a Stro-Bro or Forest King label. Those were common in the NW 50 years ago. When I gave it to him the hairs on his arm stuck up because he was so excited about it.
