Patina removal

How do I remove a lil slap of patina from a spyderco police 3? I know people here love the 'tina but I need the blade looking brand new. I bought it last week for my father as a xmas gift from knifeworks and it came with some. I have some CLR but have not tried it yet I dont want to hurt it.

mothers aluminum wheel polish will do, rub the blade in the same direction as the grind lines on a microfiber cloth.

I use simichrome polish to remove a patina.

Is it a real patina or is it possible heat scorch from grinding?
