Tried to paint tiger stripes with toothpick and mustard. 15 minutes each side. Pretty cool for a first try. Purchased from forum already stripped.

It turned out real nice. I used mustard and a q-tip on my bk2 and mustard and a kids watercolor brush on my 14. What I like best about forced patinas is if you dont like it, sand it off and try again.

Agreed, I like the control of using something viscous like mustard. It was fast and easy. Pretty neat idea. I read about this somewhere on the forum.

Thanks, the Zytel handles were included in the forum purchase. I like them. Having long, but not large hands makes it easy to get a grip on many of my blade handles without feeling crowded out, even on short blades.

That isn't the laser etched it's roll stamped. It's a good knife ain't it? I love my esky.

Nice job on the patina too.

One thing I found with the mustard on the cro-van is that it last a long time compared to viniger and what not. Or at least the mustard I used did. After I used the mustard on my 9 I didn't like the design so I sanded it off and soaked it in viniger and the damn mustard design showed up through the viniger patina lol even now I can still see the mustard lines just a little if I look hard enough.

Hunter Sharp, my patina came off after cutting 2 lemons and one grapefruit! FYI...it was French's.

You can see it in the sales thread I just started for the BK14.
