Hey guys, just wondering about patina. So I see a lot of stripped beckers around here. All of mine still have the coating. I want to strip a few but don't have great results with vinegar patina I've used in the past. It works but doesn't look too great. I've seen some beautiful blades here and I just don't have the magic touch.
Some questions:
Do you strip your blades?
What type of patina do you try, with what and how?
Do you strip under the handles?

If I strip mine I feel like I'd want to strip under the handle, but I don't want any bad rust starting.

I've only experienced vinegar patina but I've recently seen one of you use salsa and stuff which turned out awesome.

What type of patina do you prefer that may be more durable than others?

Use is the best patina.
I don't strip under my handles.
If you want to force it, you could try mustard or hot sauce to make a pattern, and fill the gaps with vinegar or something.

I use the strip it all, use it, mineral oil it, repeat method.

I've found that forced patinas wear just like coatings.

I did my BK9 and BK2 last night with white vinegar. Left the patina on for only about and hour and they are now a nice, rich/dark color with the paper towel pattern embossed on the blade (a nice touch in my opinion).

There was no rust to scrape off, I probably didn't do it long enough to have that effect.

Which methods create the lightest/med/darkest patinas?? Between Mustard, Lemon, Vinegar, etc.
Is there a difference in results with white/cider vinegar??
