I just had to share the pics I just received of a Patrick Hastings piece that I've been really looking forward to.
A while ago I'd purchased a nice 'Shoki' theme'd tsuba & fuchi that really caught my eye. Great pieces sized for a wakazashi that I really wanted to do something with, but the missing kashira was going to make it difficult.
Around the same time I'd also been talking to a dealer about aquiring a Hastings wakazashi that he had. Of course I took the opportunity to see about having Patrick create a kashira to match the set.
Flash forward to this morning when I open my email to see a pic of kashira Patrick has worked up.
While I haven't been able to see it in person yet, even from the pics it's remarkable just how close to the original in both style and finish the new piece is.
