I have had great experience with sheaths from Heber and Rick Lowe. They will get more of my business! That being said, I really like some of the sheaths that I see on Patriot Leather's page. From what I can see, the designs and workmanship appears to be excellent and am considering giving them a try. Has anyone else here used them? What was your experience like?

Before I drop a bunch of $s, I wanted to reach out to the community here and see what you all thought about this company.

Sky's work is top notch--I have a belt sheath w/ dangler from them for my Busse TGLB, a pocket slip for my Game Warden, and a scout carry sheath on order for my SOB (yes, all Busse, not Fiddleback, sorry), and I have nothing but the best things to say about their work. Excellent communication too.

Skyler is super cool. I've gotten 4 sheaths from him so far and I really like them all.
 
Skyler does great work. Very high quality. I have a bunch of his stuff. Sheaths and pouches. A couple of the sheaths have been in use for a good 5 years or more and are still in great condition.
 
Thanks for all the feedback. I just ordered a sheath. When I get it, I will post up and let you know what I think.

What color did you order?
The rectangle ring for the 'dangler', what's it made of?

Light Brown leather, and the dangler ring is some kind of coated metal.

In case I did not emphasize this enough before, let me say it again: this sheath is an incredibly well made BEAST. It is the most heavy-duty leather sheath I own, and the next toughest sheath is not even close. I enjoy and cary sheaths by many other makers. In fact, right not Heber is making a sheath for my Bear Paw. However, if I needed one sheath to hold my only knife during the zombie apocalypse, I would get it from Patriot Leather (or maybe have it made of Kydex)...

Did I mention Patriot Leather makes tough sheaths? :)

Gents, I have posted this before,, In order to help keep our production times down, we do not have a phone ordering system or an open store front. Either of those things would require me personally, and I would lose several hours of work per day. If I hired someone to do them, even assuming I could download what fits what, what we can/can't do, etc. into someone, it would drive up costs, which we can only absorb so much of, and then must pass it along in the form of higher prices. No one wants that, I have tried to keep prices as low as possible for as long as we are able to do so.

We have a very tight knit, ordered, and structured system that allows us to produce at the volume and pace we do. I realize that our business model may turn a few people away and that is unfortunate, but I know that we cannot please everyone.

Patriot Leather was recommended to me by another member a few days ago. And after checking out their website with pics of their beautiful work and reading a few glowing reviews , I placed my order for a brand new leather sheath for my knife. I'm very much looking forward to receiving it.

I'm not a fan of Kydex.
 
You won't be disappointed. Skylar provides buyers with awesome build quality and bombproof materials.
 
Plenty of people have been disappointed. There are a number of complaints about him in the feedback forum. From his own comments in those threads, any sane person would go elsewhere.

Bad - Patriot Leather

Anybody order a sheath from Patriot Leather and not receive it? Long story short I ordered one late December 2019, for my Bravo Squad Leader. Received one early March, it was made for knife much much larger. I contacted them and was told to return it, which I promptly did on my dime on March 3...
