To celebrate a major accomplishment in my life/career, I ordered my first Emerson. A Patriot with the plain edge and stonewashed/satin finish and the black G10 handles. I cant wait to get it. I love the bowie inspired blade shape and the handle looks like something I would have drawn if I was designing a folder.

What is everyone's thoughts on the Patriot? Can you guys post some pics of your patriots to tide me over?

I got to handle a friend's Patriot SF. It's niiiiiice. It's like a cross between the Commander and SOCFK handle. Of course it's an Emerson, so it just locks into the hand extremely well. The blade shape is also a great balance too. A recurve but not as extreme as the Commander, with a nice enough belly to cut with, and a nice sturdy point to pierce just about anything. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a more balanced knife than the Patriot.

Never had the chance to handle the Patriot. Looks comfy like the Commanders handle though. Congrats

It seems like there are very few pictures and reviews of it on the web. Once I get mine I am going to take some nice comparison pics and do a little write up

I got the patriot today. This is my first Emerson, but not the first I have fondled. The initial report that its quite big. Feels great in the hand and is wicked sharp. The g10 is insanely grippy, to the point of being unable to pull the damn thing out of my pocket without it turning my pocket inside out. The action is very tight. I amgoing to loosen it a smudge and I might have to sand the G10 down some. Other than that, it seems pretty awesome

Congrats! While those modifications sound reasonable, give it a little time as is and see how it breaks in with use--at least that is what I found to be a good course of action upon receiving a new Emerson. In any case, enjoy that bad boy!

Don't sand em down they will fix themselves in a few days. Speaking from experience. Congrats
