Tuesday night we were in the garage enjoying a soft beverage & chatting .Patsy broke off in mid-dentence & had an astounded look on her face > I could see she was struggling to speak. Remembering the 3 signs of sa stroke,I got her to raise her arms, smile \but she couldn't speak a sentence. I tried to get her to go to ER but she refused.

Next morning I took her to the VA clinic in Daytona and after scans & other tests we came home with her medicine, common aspirin ! Doctor said leep an eye on her. Even if it was a minor stroke,it could come back, bigger & badder. If it happened afatn, call an ambulance. They would take her to ER immediately. I was assured that another was exceedingly doubtful.

Prayer appreciated.

prayer's offered.
hope all turns out well soon.
just a word to others who may be reading, that the slightest signs of a stroke's makes it a medical emergency, and delays to the doctors are a no-no.

Uncle Alan, our family's thoughts and prayers to you as well. Being the overly protective person I am with my brood, I think a second opinion might not be a bad idea, & couldn't hurt. How is she doing, any after effects on her memory or motor skills ?

I hope that everything turns out OK.

A CVA is the only thing that scares the hell out of me.

Smoke and prayers going out to Patsy and you too UA. IF there is a next time, don't take NO for an answer and get her to an ER ASAP!

Smoke goin up for you and your wife. I can't imagine what a terrible feeling that was

+1. In case of a stroke, every minute counts. The sooner you get to an ER, the more likely clot busting drugs can reverse the effects of a stroke. If she shows signs of a stroke, take her to the ER or call 911 immediately and don't take no for an answer.

Prayers sent. I worked as an EMT and in a hospital ER for 4 years when I was younger and I saw a lot of CVAs. The one thing that I would always tell patient families is that anytime something doesn't feel right, call 911. Never take a chance.
Thankfully we have CTs that can detect that kind of thing now adays. Long live the 64 row scanners!
