Pattern 1907 rifle sling

I have a cheap funky 1907 sling on my U.S. Rifle 1917 and would like to get a better one or make my own. Any recommendations for certain ones or somewhere I can get good measurements to make my own? I suspect my japanese import sling from the 70's is shorter than standard.

Just names is fine, I know how to look it up. I have a brownells catalog at home I'll check.
