So I'm trying to accomplish a canister Damascus project. I'm specifically referring to the canisters that you fill with tubes rectangular tubes rod angle iron in that sort of stuff. I need to know how you clean the inside of those hollow tubes and rectangles? Scrubbing them out with a wire brush or gun cleaning brush? Or do you soak them in an acid? Thanks for your help.

I don't do mosaic, but from what I have seen, the cut-out pieces and things like tubes and rods are used as-is. Unless they are full of crap, I don't think they need more tan a good washing and maybe an hour in a ultrasonic cleaner or a tumbler. An acid bath would get them ready for sure.

Not much cleaning is needed. One thing you don't want in the can is steel with scale on it. Rust, oil, paint, etc is not a problem.
