What is the pattern called that looks like a small trapper but instead of the spey its a pen? I have an older XX Case like this with an 07 pattern # tang stamp but I also have a newer Case small trapper with spey and 07 pattern # tang.--KV

Could you provide a photo?

"A 'trapper' is a jack knife with two specific full length blades... a clip point with a long clip... [and] a long spey... [The trapper] is built on a swell center regular jack handle die..." Bernard Levine's Guide to Knives and their Values Fourth Edition, page 216.

"Larger round-ended serpentine jack knives are often called dog-leg jacks..." Page 185.

"Markedly tapered serpentine pen knives are often called dog-legs..." Page 246.

Your knife is a swell-center regular jack knife.
