Hey Guy's, been thinking about getting a Mini-Bowie from Patton Knive's and was wondering if any of you have one of there knive's, in particular the Mini-Bowie and can you tell me what you think of it ?? I've exchanged E-Mail's with Rob Patton and he seem's to be one Hell of a guy and a true Gentleman!! If you have any Pic's of there work that you can post would appreciate it !!??

Thank you in Advance, Mario C. :D

You cannot go wrong with Rob. I got his Kasper Grande model. I met Rob at Knife Expo 02 &. I believe Rob won two awards at the Expo but don't hold me to it. He had beautiful knives for sale including the mini bowie.

Rob makes great knives. he and I correspond a lot about what should go into one, and agree on most of the goals even though we go at it from different angles.

And yes, he is a gentleman. He just has great difficulty coming to grips with the outcome of the Civil War... :)

I own a Patton Mandrita Bowie and have a couple of other pieces, including one of Rob's incredible tomahawks, on order. I have also done prototype and performance testing on a few of his new designs and can tell you that his blades are absolutely world class. Rob is an accomplished knifefighter in his own right, and that knowledge is clearly reflected in his blades.

The Mandrita ROCKS! You can't go wrong with his stuff. Been eyeing a Mandrita up for a while.....Need something to hold me over until Mr. Hossom is taking orders again. :D

I had a Merlin fighter for a while. Very, very nice work. The handle was a bit big for me but I would think a person with average to large hands would love it.

Box27, if you buy a Patton knife, you'll be very pleased. You can see their blades at pattonknives.com.

I have a Mini-Bowie, and a Hunter model. Both are outstanding, out here in the hunting and camping fields of Idaho. Dick and Rob Patton are friends of mine, and not only do I stop by their shop and watch them make knives -- what an interesting experience!! -- I hunt elk and deer with Dick. I did not buy my knives because of my friendship with them, but because of their high quality and practical design. Dick and Rob are top quality people who make top quality blades!

Met Rob and got to look over his work a couple weeks ago. Really good stuff. Yes he took two awards at Expo, Best Forged Blade and Best Fighter/Tactical (his Merlin).

Jerry, Civil War? Oh you must mean the War of Northern Aggression:D.

Oh yes, I got to see and handle some of Rob and Dick's work at Blade Show and the workmanship is outstanding, no way are you going to be disappointed by one of their knives!
