apparently he isnt around at present...but Im sure he will answer soon enough....He cant do oil quench steels due to the stinking EPA regs....dont want that hole in the sky to get any bigger than they think it is but dont really know how big it is or how big it used to be...but just the same, He only heat treats air hardening steels...

paul this is one of jims twisted nickel bars. does that quaifly as stainless damascus? rhinoknives.com

I am sure that it does not qualify as stainless damascus, since it is 1095 and pure nickel.

I am back in the heat treating other people's stuff business. Please be sure to read and understand the page with terms and conditions on my web site before sending me anything to heat treat, however.

yes tom i live in santa(soviet) monica this place is nuts not only do you have the global warming crowd, they are so anti everything its a joke. the local barber had to get a petion to save the barber poll that had been in front of his shop for thirty five years

I do heat treating on OIL-HARDENED steels, including Ferguson's twisted 1095/nkl. All blades are quenched in peanut oil, then triple tempered. Check out my website for pricing/etc. www.bearclawknives.com
