My son Trace and I went to see Paul a few days ago and took some shots of the BOS mans Shop, at the Buck facility... First shot is Paul and Trace in the office...

Here is Paul pulling some blades out of the oven... You might not be able to see but there on the rack it says.. Paul Bos DO NOT TAKE!!! Talk about security!!! Now dont that make ya feel better???;)

A couple more... These machines can actually temper and cryo treat blades...

Cant see the WHOLE thing cause its HUGE!!! But this is where they keep the COLD stuff! Paul says they use $200 per day of Liquid nitrogen! Buckets with acetone and dry ice just dont compare;)

Here Paul is showing Trace how a lazer cutter works... They booted our asses shortly after cause we DIDNT have eye protection...LOL....
I hope the Buck guys dont give him hell after seing this..:D

Years and YEARS from now when the Bos man decides to hang it up, THIS will be the new PAUL!!!
His name is Paul, and Paul bos has been teaching him for years already.. He will be the guy we send our blades to one day!! I like him already!!!;)

Leaving the BOS shop we MADE Pauls wife step out of quality control for a pic... Talk about a classy lady!!! She is DEFINITELY the better half!!!HAHAHA... How cool, they met at Buck and she is in quality control!! That MUST say something about Mr. Paul Bos!!! All I know is the work he has done for me has been MUCH of the reason I have done well in this biz...
I COULD heat treat blades myself, but Paul Bos is the BEST insurance a maker could ever buy!!!!

That is so cool. Thanks so much for doing the photo tour.

Just goes to show how great a guy Paul is to let you do it in the first place!

I have always wondered what Paul's shop looked like, but I guess I figured I'd never know. Heck, I didn't even know what Paul looked like until that picture was published in Blade.

I'm glad to see him in his home away from home!

My MAN Nick!! Hey bud next show we are at I will introduce you to the Bos man! U going to Vegas?? I hope so!! Cant wait to see what yer doing now.. If its like last year, I will want to buy a football, and sell my grinder!!!...LOL...
 
now that is a heat treatment shop! i have not met paul yet, that cryo smoke is just in time for holloween. :D

That is WAAAAAAAAAAAAY cool! Thanks for posting this! Now that is a heat treat shop. I suppose some folks can get two or three ovens and then say they are in the HT business. :rolleyes:

Although we all know Paul's reputation in the industry it speaks volumes when the heat treat has to be right each and every time for such a large knife manufacturer as Buck. A bad run and you don't sell any blades. Kinda the same thing for the custom maker, isn't it? Why gamble and fool around with anything else?

Trace Thanks a million! I enjoyed the tour very much. Ive had Paul heating my blades since 1988 but have never seen him or his work place. Thanks for sharing

I believe Paul's workmanship, ethics, and service prove everything about being a professional in the world of cutlery. He's a GREAT guy, to boot! :D

We finally get to put a face to the legend!!!
I had never seen a pic of Mr. Bos before these but I actually did have him pegged for a white beard for some reason, maybe it's because when I get a package full of blades back from him it's like opening a Christmas present. :)
Man I love checking out shop tours!
