I was wondering what Mr. Bos' turn around time is with a batch of knives. Seems like he's real popular so does it take along time? Take care! Michael

Always think of your fellow knife makers as partners in the search for the perfect blade, not as people trying to compete with you and your work!http://www.nebsnow.com/L6steel

it usually takes 2.5 weeks for mine...that includes 3 days there and 3 days back via usps.

Yep 2-3 weeks, but Michael he only does air hardening steels. So L6 is out.

The EPA and/or OSHA hassel him about oil or salt quenches.

For me it takes about 8 working days to get blades treated by Paul.. I live fairly close to him though. I was talking to him recently and he is now cryo-treating the Tool Steel blades too. He says it is working very well. I have to agree with him:-) Paul is a great guy with a huge wealth of knowledge, if you have a problem he figures out WHAT it is. So far I have never had a problem.

Paul does a great job. His turnaround time for me has always been 2-3 weeks.

You'll find little scale on your returned blades and no warpage.

He's a really busy guy, and unfortuneately, I've never been able to speak with him one to one, but I've sent him my blades for 4 years now and the quality is consistent.

After all, I just shape the knife, he gives it the ability to perform as a cutting instrument.

Nick,

maybe you're doing such a good job on your blades that he doesn't have any critiscism? :-)

Believe me, getting blades back that are warped is a real drag. That's why I'm going to all the trouble and expense to send mine halfway around the world.

So as the bride's mother told the daughter on her wedding day, "Honey, if it's straight and hard, you can quit worrying."
