I thought I'd share a sketch I did today of Paul Bunyan. It's based on an original by Richard Bennett in a collected book of Paul Bunyan stories called "Legends of Paul Bunyan". Something a little different from the usual on here so I was hesitant to post.

Very nice. I envy those with artistic talent. About the only thing I can draw is flies.

I've seen your sketches on etsy while I was looking for axes =) way better than I'll ever do. I like your Paul Bunyan :)

Nice Cooper! It's been so long ago that I heard a Paul Bunyan story. Must revisit them when grand kids are old enough.

Very nice...Ive seen two huge Paul statues in my life, one in maine and I cant recall where the other was now, but it wasn't till recently that I discovered they were closer to being life size than I imagined

Could the other have been in California in the Trees of Mystery on the 101 highway?

I just passed through Bemidgi a couple weeks ago and visited the big statues down by the lake.

Ahh Bemidji...we were just there this summer visiting family. (As a side note, the Bemidji Woolen Mills puts out fantastic gear.) Also took the kids to Paul Bunyan Land amusement park just outside Brainerd.

You guys are all wet - Everybody knows- P B is from Jersey. Golf pro at Barnacle Bills and the Carpet man in jersey city under the Pulaski Skyway. He also had gigs at several other amusement parks , think he finally retired to Fla.

Must see movie- Axe Giant, The Wrath of Paul Bunyon

The ongoing joke at my office is to say quotes from this movie. It's a well executed intentional B-movie. We typically use the lines delivered by the Sergeant. "S-G-T, it has its benefits."

As a purveyor of fine art, my suggestion is to double the size of the mustache. My appraiser that I keep on retainer said it would quadruple the value. It's quite fine in its present state though. Any normal American male should feel pride when they see the likeness of Paul Bunyan.
