Thought the group might enjoy this very detailed read:

Many know of Paul through his association with master swordsman Obata Toshishiro and his record helmet cut (Kabutowari in 1994). Paul worked with Obata to create hybrid Katana for Shinkendo students known as the Tameshigiri Series. Unique swords with a focus on safety, but Paul's majority work is very traditional - from finding ore near his home, smelting it, forging, quenching, polishing and finishing complete swords - Eastern and Western.
I've been compiling quite a bit of information from Paul through our discussions and emails. I'd be happy to share details on design, construction, testing, maintenance, etc.
