Has anyone seen one of these? It's a folder that locks in three positions: open, closed and half-way (push-dagger style). It looks attractive it the ads and sheeple friendly.

Just curious about quality, usefulness as an EDC, etc. etc.
Also where I can get one. I'll probably have to drive to the US to get one, because push daggers are not allowed up here and wouldn't want to take the chance of having it confiscated by Customs.
Does anyone know of any good stores near Port Huron?

Thanks in advance,
Dale.

I ordered one from C.A.S. Iberia out of curiosity. The knife is made in China with a 440C blade that is rather dull, but can be sharpened to your own liking, however, the sheath sucks. Overall, I was not impressed so I threw it a junk drawer until I found someone who was willing to make a trade.

I was looking forward to the Outdoor Edge/Appleton Cosmos, which I believe would have been a better peice, but sadly the project was placed on hold.

I had also been interested in this knife.

I handled one about two months ago at a blade show.

Poor quality grind on the blade and it is very small. The mechanics weren't bad however. As mentioned by El Cid, it was factory dull.

All in all, totally useless for utility work, and if you are going to get an illegal-to-carry push dagger, get a real one (fixed).

Or, get either the Emerson La Griffe or treat yourself to a Perrin Griffe for a small, easy to carry defensive back-up.

I have one, and I actually like it quite a bit. I use it to open boxes and stuff like that. It did need an initial sharpening, but the 440C holds an edge quite well. The lock is very tight, and works well in all 3 locking positions. I love the way it looks, and it is fun to play with. If you can get it for less than $40 USD, then it is probably a good deal. I don't think it would be good for a general utility knife, but for special occasions, like church, and the like, it makes for a great conversation piece. It's one of the few knives that I wouldn't get rid of.

I bought a CAS Citizen a few years back out of curiosity. I saw an add and really liked the look of it.

I came to the conclusion that it's pretty useless, however. As mentioned, the blade is too short and thick for utility use. I have no experience with defensive tools, but... you need two hands to open it and the blade sticks out between index and middle finger. It's clumsy and, my guess is, a real punch will sprain you wrist.

I have one of these and I have to tell you, save your money.
I liked it a lot when I got it. I threw it in my glove box one day and forgot about it for a week. When I retrieved it from the glove box, the heat in my car de-tempered the spring on the button lock.
Now I have a useless, but pretty, folder whose blade flops whichever way gravity pulls it and does not lock up at all.:barf:
