Has anyone seen these paul chen (repro) German army trench knives and what do they think of the quality, fit and finish, etc.?

Thanks,
Sincerely,
John

I've seen some before, but they were made in India or Pakistan or somewhere like that. The metal was just old spring steel and not sharpened. It was intended just to be used for looks in reenactments. You'd need a bench grinder to put an edge on it. If you want one for looks, they're fine, but it you intend on using it, I'd look elsewhere. There may be some good repros out there, but the ones I looked at weren't.

I have one. It is not a bad knife for the price. The Paul Chen ones are made in China, not India or Pakistan, and the steel should be of much better quality than the stuff used in India and Pakistan. The fit and finish is good, and the knife came with a sharp edge.

The handle has rather simple wood slabs, but well-fitted and finished.

I only paid $30 plus shipping for mine, and I think it is definitely worth the price. It is a big step up from Indian and Pakistani knives. Paul Chen products are usually quite good for the price.
