How To Paul knife help please.

Hello BF members with knowledge about Paul knives. I recently got two Paul knives and need to adjust the horizontal blade movement on both. My question is how do I loosen and or tighten the retaining ring on the button side without buggering up the ring? I know that there is a small pin hole on the ring that is supposed to aid in doing this but I am unable to get it to move at all. Is there a special tool for adjusting the ring? Any suggestions for doing this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all!

I do it by hand with a piece of rubber sheet for grip, like one used to open stubborn jars.

Thanks for the suggestion but it’s hard to get the leverage needed on a ring that small.

No doubt, but it has worked for me...and it beats using a pair of pliers The only other option would be to fabricate the proper tool, but the rubber trick saved me that hassle.

There are two versions, Gerber and Lone Wolf. IIRC the Lone Wolf ones are adjustable for blade, the Gerber not so much.
