Greetings gents. Just back from a weekend at Dan Farr's forge and shop. You can see a bunch of pics on Matt's excellent thread here:

But I thought I would show of a couple pics that fall outside the work done that weekend.

First, I got the chance to pick up a package that Paul Long mailed to Dan for me:

If you've got eyes, you don't need me to tell you how good these are. And if you own one, then you REALLY know.

Next - I always get a kick out of seeing the knives that makers themselves use - so in case I'm not alone in that category, I thought I'd show you these. Dan very much believes in putting to use a representative cross-section of the knives he offers for sale.

Here are three Farrs that have seen lots of action, in sizes small, medium and medium large (there is a large size also, but it wasn't at the cabin when I snapped this shot):

All are performing exceptionally well.

Thanks for the great pics!

I particularly like the foldover Long sheaths, I haven't seen him do a lot of those.

Wow, what incredible sheaths!! Those knives are all awesome looking. Thanks for sharing.

Yup, good times. I've learned a ton at Dan's, and had a blast doing it!

WOW...VERY nice trio Roger. What a trip...picking up those and getting to play in the shop. Looks like a great time was had by all! Congrats.

Damn Roger, those sheaths are something else! Beautiful!

Nice knives also - love the handles.

Kind regards,

Jos

Roger great knives and fantastic sheaths really digging the cross draw kinda pouch style. Paul's been holding out on me :D Now I gotta find a knife with a half guard:thumbup:

Next time I need a sheath I'm going to see what Paul will come up with. His work has impressed me greatly.

The Farr knives are of course, very nice.

I'm lovin' the sheaths and the knives, cool stuff. I was talkng to Paul last night and I'm going to need to find a knife for a cross draw/pouch, too.

With a little luck I'll have some Long eye candy in a week or so.

Win, JP - that cross-draw pouch is my favourite of the bunch. It's not every knife that will work with it, but if the dimensions and design allow, it's a great way to go.

Yep the cross draw sheaths are great look-in and functional. Hard to beat a combination like that.
