When I saw the picture of Ray Covers knife with the Ivory Micarta and red liners it jogged a memory. In the Mid 80's I purchased a little slip from Paul. It was a small slip with elephant ivory scales and red liners. In a weak moment I sold the knife along with a fixed blade drop point also with ivory. I would love to see pictures of Paul's slips here if anyone has them. If Memory serves me right, the serial number on the slip was 212 and the fixed blade was 112.
I met Paul while doing a gunshow at Cervanties in downtown St Louis. while Paul may not remember me, he had somewhat of a influence on me as far as deciding to make knives. Paul's knives were clean for the 80's and on the smaller side which even then I seemed to take a shine to.
Anyways, I would love to see other examples of Paul's slips and you never know, maybe 212 will resurface!
