For those of you who don't know, that's Southern US English for "Grandpa."
And it now describes me.

Oops, forgot to add...I never thought I would live this long, but I'm glad I did.
 
I just had my 5th grand this past week, it was a girl, Mary Alice, Now I have 3 girls and two boys. The day is coming when you will say, We should have had them first. They are so much fun, and you get to send home at night. Paw Paw's can have all the fun and leave all the work to the parents. Although you might have to get on the children to lighten up some. For some reason, they are never bad around the grandparents, yet the children are all bent over spilled milk or something else. Me, I just clean it up and love them.

Congrats Paw Paw enjoy the best that God ever gave us.

Congratulations Paw Paw Mike!:thumbup: :cool: :D Mary Margart Landon 9/5/2007 is sure a cutie and I can tell already she is gonna be spoiled rotten as she should be!!!!:thumbup: :p :D

Mike my friend it seems we almost always live longer than we expect too. I never expected to live long enough to have grandkids either but I did and now I am the proud Great Grandpa of seven and soon to be eight great grandkids!!!!
My oldest granddaughter is now Thirty, my son is Fifty!

I feel really old at 67 but it's the miles not the age.:eek: ;) :D :o
 
Like the song says, I'm not broken down, I'm just broken-in.

:)

I feel like I've been in a pretty long slow deep slump ever since my wife died in '03, and some other things happened.
Mary Margaret's birth has made me feel...I dunno, like I still have worth and work to do here in this world. It's been uplifting.

Congrats...on your new Grandaughter..I know you're proud. She's beautiful. Remember all those other folk's "Grandkid Pics" you were forced look at over the years????...Kinda' puts it all into perspective now! :D Got (5) myself.
My mother had a saying I can identify with...."Grandkids are God's reward for not killiin' our own." :thumbup:

On the other side of the coin,
a friend of mine says " Grandkids are your parents second chance to get into heaven" :)

My Aunt who is a grandmother of 5 or 6 ( been awhile since I've seen that side of the family) says
" If the grandkids don't cry when ya send them home you are not doing your job"
