Found this George Beechey knife in a pawn shop for $40.
Very little about the maker online, anyone familiar with his work?

Probably 440C as that is what most of his knives I found were made of.
The sheath is very nice, probably worth the purchase price by itself.

The inset fly seemed a little cheesy at first, but nicely done and is kinda growing on me.

Great Score!
That blade has a nice finish $$
Congratulations!

OK, I'll start the bidding at $50. :D ;)

A great knife. I like the window display.

And, you slept at night, after stealing that one? :D

Seriously; I don't know that you could get many people to make the leather sheath for that price.

Great score. There've been a couple of knives by George Beechey that I wanted back when I first got into collecting around 2003. I didn't pull the trigger on one particular one, and have been regretting it since. South African maker, died several years ago.

I'm a fly fishing nut myself. That cheesy fly is awesome! You stole that one for sure.

I also love that knife and inlay. Very cool! At $40 that seems like a great price to me!
