I cannot for the life of me figure out how to post a pix on here.

I picked up a Buck 120 today at a local pawn shop for $30.00. My question is this. When was it made? It is a total of 12 1/4 inches long with a blade length of 7 3/4 inches. The stamp with the blade facing down simply says BUCK. No other markings. It also has four blood red spacers, two above the black phenolic handle and two below. The sheath has a single strap that sits right above the pommel. The knife is near perfect and it appears that its never seen a sharpening stone. The snap on the sheath says BUCK. If I can figure out how to post a pix then I will do so. Thank in advance for any input!

I'd like for you to be able to post a photo also. The General is one of my favorites.

Take your digital photo(s), save them onto your desktop (where they are easy to find), edit them if they need it, sign up with http://imageshack.us/ (the pic host I like most), upload your photo to ImageShack, copy the image file from ImageShack and finally paste that file into your post on Bladeforums.

Or, email your photo(s) to me and I will be happy to post them into your thread. Just click on my name in the upper left of this post to find my email.

sparkle, You stumbled onto a 'Hot' model. Great! We are really wanting to see some pictures of it. Please include a photo of the back of it's sheath. DM

Well it appears we have two almost identical threads here. The knife pictured is a one line stamp Buck 120, made from 1963 thru 1966. The sheath is a second model collar style sheath and is the more desirable type of sheaths paired with one line stamp knives. You did extremely well at $30 on this knife. The sheath alone is worth $80-100, and I would pay $150 for the knife any day of the week...

Thank you for the info! And to think that I walked out of the pawn shop and left it over night while I was trying to get some information on it! I didn't selep too well last night and was back at the store when they opened the doors. I talked the girl down from $49.99 to $30.00 plus tax.

sparkle, Buck began to pin the handles like yours in May 1963.With that sheath it came later. A great find!! DM

The red looks like bone hard fiber to my sore eyes.

Stunning pristine condition. Museum quality collector show piece. Congratulations on your finding rich cutlery treasure.

Thank you kindly for the pics SM. Using imageshack you can post the actual photo if you copy the link with [IMG} before and after the goobaldy gook/address of the pic.

Your right, BUCK used Bone Hard Fiber from 1963 thru 1968/69, when they transitioned to red Micarta.

I don't quite understand the second part of this post. "with that sheath it came later". The sheath shown in the pictures is the earliest marked sheath for the one line stamp, pinned handle knife. The only other sheath made earlier than the one pictured was exactly the same but wasn't marked Buck on the snap. It had a smooth snap.
