Hello fellow Buck nuts. Last weekend I was headed back to my home town to see my Grandfather for his birthday, so I stopped by a few pawn shops to see what they had. I notice this older Buck 119 next to a new 119. The older 119 did not have a sheath and knowing what the owner wanted for it, I passed. I thought about it often since Sat. Well last night I knew I would be off today and I started thinking about making a trip back down there today. Last night I woke up I know two times thinking about the knife. I in one of the dreams, I went to buy it and it was sold. I can't remember what the other one was, but when I woke up to the alarm I knew I would go buy it. I kept thinking "you don't see these very often", and it was just not worth loosing sleep over (how sick am I to loose sleep over a knife :o).

On the way home, I noticed a new pawn shop about 30 miles from my house, so I turned in to check it out. In there I met another Buck nut and I introduced him to the forums. I told him why I was down in the area and he wanted to see the 119. So off to the truck and I bring in this pretty rusted (surface rust). He offers to clean it with some polish he had there. He did a quick job and it looks much better than when I bought it. Well I am back and took some pics. She needs a little more TLC, but it's not too bad I can't show off some pics. Sorry for the crappy pics.

A two line inverted is a great find! Looks to be in great shape too!

Pack Rat, It looks to have never been used or if it has been used it was very lightly. It still has the factory edge, but while it was in glass case, it looked pretty bad.

Dave,

At first I was not sure if I got a good deal or not, but it was worth it to not loose any more sleep over ;). Most of the way home I woundered if the rust pitted into the knife. I could not wait to get home to try to clean off the rust to see what laid under it. I guess the big man upstairs knew how bad I wanted to know, and so I meet a new friend who offers to clean the knife for me before I even got home . I paid $30 for it and I feel that was a good deal after seeing it cleaned up, but it was a gamble.

Thanks,
John

Great find John. I tell you what, I love the stories about these finds almost as much as the knives themselves.
