Well, I was actually on a mission to trade in some stuff to get Super Mario Brothers on Game Boy Advance (hate Mario 3; want to shoot that cartridge...might do that soon).
On the prowl for deals, I came across this sign:
Well, I like great deals, and wasn't ready to fight bears, so in I went.
They did not have Mario...but what they did have had me going back and forth for over a week, as I traded in things and added cash at times to get all of this:
Turns out some guy traded in a bunch of his collection, for some reason. I think the reason was so that I could get all of this cool stuff!
Let's look more closely, shall we?
A Case Cutlery Peanut, limited production (1000 pieces), with hunting scene etch (has a deer on the other side):
Then, the Boker Beer Barrel collection of knives. They all have handle scales made from old oak beer barrels.
The Stockman:
The Camp Knife (only 200 made; this is number 171).
Comes with microfiber bag, leather slip pouch, and a chain to attach from knife to your belt loops:
The Congress:
And the mighty Copperhead! This was the first one I sharpened the tips on; as with many traditional knives, they shipped with inexplicably rounded tips.
Then there is the legendary Gerber Mark 2. This one is from 1978, and should be made of L6 steel according to the info I looked up. You may see some Sno-Seal on the blade in spots, as I had to condition the sheath inside and out:
Since I had the Beer Barrel Camp Knife made in Germany, I had to get an extremely German beer to open with it.
I got this odd "smokebeer", as it had the most German bottle possible.
The bottle opener kind of sucks though, so I had to change grip on it to make it work:
With my stupid muscle condition, I cannot drink much in the way of alcohol, but I got this tiny 2 ounce beer glass style shot glass so I could have a drink:
It really is smokebeer.
It seriously tastes like you are drinking a camp fire.
You can even smell smoke in your nostrils afterward.
It is a truly uniquely German drink.
Then, today I had the Copperhead with me and decided to get a couple of pics with my coffee on this weird table downtown:
And that is it for my pawn shop finds.
