Stop at a relatively new pawn shop in my area. I had been there several month ago and seen a Buck 315 rigger's knife. The owner had $50 on it, which was more than I wanted to pay, and wouldn't come down. That was about 4 months ago. I happened to stop back this morning. Low and behold, the Buck still lying there at the same price. A different clerk asked if he could help me. So I started looking around because there were lots of Case knives. I found a red Case Canoe with $35 on it. Red is my favorite color. I thought that the canoe was a good deal so I put it with the Buck. Now, while I am standing looking at the knives, the clerk walks past me and put a Case in the case. And it is a congress!!! In red no less. It has $30 on it. By this time, I had decided to get the Buck and canoe. So I pick up all three and ask if he would do me a deal. He looks at the three knives and says how does $100 dollars sound? SOLD!!!
The main sheepsfoot blade on the congress has lost some of its snap but it is still quite usable. For some reason the Buck's blade is hitting the back spring when the marlin spike is opened. I put a three-times-folded piece of paper under the kick and that seems to have resolved the problem but I will keep an eye on it.
