Pawn shop score.

So I've read several posts around the forum of people finding great deals at pawn shops, flee markets, and such. So today I figured what the hell, I'll go check out the local pawn shop, less than 10 minutes away. I had been there before, years ago and the knives seemed steep. Today was no different, I looked at a few of them no great deals. I was getting ready to leave when I caught a glimpse of silver alox in the bottom of a box filled with misc. knives. I asked to see it, no price, the small screw driver head was tweaked a little, which I pointed out to the lady. She went to get a price from the manager, he was trying to look it up using the 01 on it as the model number nothing came up (duh). So he said "hows ten bucks sound", I thought a minute, trying to hide my excitement, yeah I guess.
:D SCORE...Ten bucks for a Victorinox Silver Alox Soldier, sweet.

The 01 on the blade is a date code (month) correct? Its not the first of the run, or it would be 01/500 or something like that, correct ?

My only question is: Who would pawn that? They couldn't have gotten much for it. Cool score though.

im curious how much money the fellow who pawned it got. ive never seen one more the 35 dollars new, ive had and lost like 5 of those :(

Great score, looks like the Soldier is still in good condition. The 01 is the year stamp for 2001.

i was at a gun show and saw a sog s1 bowie seki in new condition with a 100 dollar price tag.i offered 75 dollars and walked away with it for 80

There is only one pawn shop that Ive ever made purchases from. Ive bought five knives from it.

The only knife I ever bought from a pawn shop was a NIB Swisschamp, and I paid too much for it :( . I was young and ignorant then, but I love the champ and have it still :) .

Cool find. I regularly troll the shops on my way home and have found some great knives at crazy low prices. I also have seen a lot of overpriced knives. I am curious as to how much this knife was pawned for.

im a yard sale freak... and before i really got into knives iv bought 3 great deals... swiss champ -$5 old leatherman wave- $5 and a gerber lmf2 bought for $8 sold for $45 :D

(i bought them all at different yardsales... i must say iv passed up a ton of great deals i hate myself for missing) :(
