A few days ago I posted about an early Schrade 194OT I picked up at a local shop, and the twin that I left behind...
Seems the last few days have been so busy, I didn't have time to stop back by and pick up the twin. I figured it was probably already gone. Yesterday I had a chance to stop and when I walked in, there was a guy looking at it

So I hung out, and a couple minutes later, he gave it back to the guy behind the counter :D

Well anyway, the guy behind the counter remembered me from the other day.
I told him I came back to get the other knife, its brother was feeling lonely..

Worked out great because he says, Seems how ya bought the other one, I'll give you a better deal.. Heck I thought 20.00 was a good deal. He says, hows 18.00 sound ? Needless to say, it didn't take me long to get the money out..

Anyway, heres a pic of the early Carbon Steel 194OT Twins ...

Whoa! Double your pleasure, double your fun! Excellent find and deal you got on some very classic, hard working USA knives! Congrats!

Congratulations! What a heartwarming "twins story": separated at birth, reunited by a loving, caring knife knut.

You should tell the story to your local news station. They're always looking for heartwarming human interest pieces. I love a happy ending. ;):D:thumbup:

Good to see, that you got the other one too, they are great knives.

Thanks for the update.
(could this be a father son set? :D)

In a way, its kinda sad when I started thinking about it.
The guy at the store told me they both came from the same person. Given that they are both older knives and in mint condition, I keep thinking that maybe they belonged to someone who feel on hard times economically and just needed some cash.
Could have been someone who had them put away in the drawer for years or even someone that their father or grandfather passed on to them...
The real sad thing is they probably only gave him 10 bucks for both of them...

Thats a good idea Peter. Travis hasn't spotted them yet :D
Actually I'm kinda leery of giving him one of these. He does great with his knives, but with this style of lock and stiff springs, I could see him cuttin his finger or thumb holding the release and foldin the blade back

Someday they will all be his anyway lol ....

Glad to see you picked up the other, a good set:thumbup:
Cheers

Now you went and made my my 1940T feel lonely. I had to put him next to Case Barehead Slimline Trapper to make him feel better....lol.

Glad to see you didn't break up a family. That's a nice find, I may have to swing buy my local pawn shop now. :D

Mike,

Super duper catch all the way on these two! And with vintage belt sheaths to boot. You stole them for the little bit of $ you gave up. I like the idea of you and Travis carrying the same slipjoint at some point in the future. Heck, you might even think about having them engraved.. In any event, I'm so pleased they both got a great home and you kept the set together.. Too  !

Best,

Anthony

338375- I do a lot of pawn shopping myself and I feel the same way you do. I get tons of good deals but there was a time in my life when I was parting with my good stuff for a fraction of its worth. Every time I get A good deal at the local pawn shop I hope Someone wasnt selling selling a family heirloom to feed there kids. Great find by the way. Let me know if ya need to trade one of thoes off!!! - Joel
